God’s Love

As a worshiper, do you ever question God’s love for you? Worship begins and ends with God.  Loving God and loving others is the greatest commandment, and worship at its core.

As we learn to love God more, our response is worship to God. As God’s love flows through us to others, we spur one another one to worship together.

Learn to lead worship through the love of God and people by His Word.

Spirit of Love

The essence of our relationship with Christ and our relationship with one another is through a committed spirit of love. This kind of love is the strongest bond of friendship.

From the words of Hebrews 13, brotherly love was in danger of being lost. The writer tells us to “keep on loving each other as brothers,” (v.1). It does not say we must love or need to love, as this would be some kind of a new thought. No, Hebrews charges us to “keep on” loving one another, as Christ taught us to love.

Relational Love

The love that Hebrews expresses is a devout kind of relational love – being knitted together. We see this Old Testament example in the relationship between David and Jonathan. It is a commitment.

It is a harness that says, I am with you no matter what. It is a deep care that is not shaken by pride, condition, worry or inconvenience. When we see this kind of love expressed from our Father, we are filled with a knowing of God’s commitment to us.

We have His promise as indicated in Hebrews 13.5 where He says: “I will never leave you; never will I forsake you.”

A House of Love

If you build it they will not come. Like many of us, we feel that if we can dream it, throw money at it and dress it up, people will come, and people will approve. Many in Scripture worship man’s greatness and accomplishments, but God saw it as otherwise – unwise and in vain.

Our worth and value is found in the Word of God and the Works of God – not the word of man, nor the worls of man. Jesus was told him: “and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” ‪#‎Matt16‬.18.

Jesus did not say “you will build on this rock “(which sometimes we hear this popular rephrase – not the truth.) He was saying: your name may be Peter, which means “Rock,” but I am the one who will build My Church. Interestingly, even though Jesus was going to build it, who was he going to build it on? Peter. Again, he said, “on this rock.”

Question: are you allowing Jesus to do the same: building on you?

Growth causes pain, yet it yields the peaceful fruit.

‪#‎John‬ 15.2 ‪#‎Heb12‬.11 God is not interested in our plans. It begins with His steps that He orders, it ends with His response and His ways ‪#‎Isaiah‬ 55:9.

Jesus does not desire the things you want to build, He wants to build on you first. His plans for you are to be complete for His workmanship, not your showmanship. ‪#‎Eph2‬.10

Build On The Rock

Jesus said here again: “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” “Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.” #Eph2.20 also see ‪#‎Isa28‬.16

Live your dreams, step out in faith, do the hard work of a servant, but allow God to build the house through you – not by you. ‪#‎1Cor3‬.9 reminds us: “For we are labourers together with God…” Personally? There is nothing I can build that He has already put together. So I need to let Him have it. Let my plans fail, so that I can see Him exalted.

Draw Near

God graciously invites us to draw near to Him – daily – moment by moment. Are we inviting our neighbors in the same way? To approach His throne of grace with confidence is through the humility of Christ. Loving your neighbor means leading them a loving, worship relationship with the Lord.

Unselfish Love

Acknowledging the holiness of God and remembering the frailty of our own humanity in worship, will bring us to a richer understanding of His mercy and the mercy we are to show to one another. When we learn how to love one another unselfishly, we learn how to love God more authentically.
