Fulfill His Purpose (Show #55)

#Overwhelmed (Video Below)

2.5 min read

What are you waiting for?

Does life feel like one big waiting room, or an endless journey? You may be waiting for a call from God, but you may have missed the voice that’s already spoken: “go”.

You’re not done, until He says you’re done. Phil 1.6 Do not be overwhelmed by your calling, be overwhelmed by the strength and purpose He’s given you to do. If you are willing to live a life that pleases and honors God, then you are already moving.

You’re doing more than siting in a waiting room. You’re learning to wait as you work in faith. There will be days when you are overwhelmed. Your feelings will try to sway you from God’s purpose. Recognize that they are feelings, but they do not dictate your reality.

God determines your purpose. It’s not what you say about it, nor anyone else – it’s what God’s word says about it. God made us with human emotions. Stress from events, from physical to the emotional will take their tolls.

But make no mistake, where you are is not because of something you have done. Where you are is where God is pointing for you to move forward.

“I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.” – Job 42.2

Does it take a blind man to see?

We’ve heard something similar in John 9. Jesus and the disciples came along and discovered a man that was born blind. Looking upon his misfortune, the very first thing the disciples judged/asked was: “did this man or his parents sin?” #John9.2 Isn’t this just like humanity? We see, we judge, we condemn.

And we also do this to ourselves. What did Jesus say? “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,”said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.” – John 9.3 Is there any reason why Jesus would still not do miracles today or do His purpose through you?

I believe much of the time we are blinded by our own circumstances, emotions, etc, but we are not to neglect the faith God already placed inside of us. Jesus desires to show His glory through us to honor the Father.

“Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.” 1Tim 4.14

How different would your life be…
…if you and I began each day by declaring: “I was created and exists for the glory of God.” So live your life to the glory of God. Get out of the waiting room, get up off the road and start walking.

Let the healing of Christ make you well. #John5.8 “I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.” Psalm 119.45 We are made to obey and to live a life of worship.

My sisters and brothers, God has raised you up to do a great work, so go now and complete it. You were made to fulfill His purpose, for the Glory of God. God has put it into your heart to accomplish His purpose.

Where you are, is not who you are

You were made for so much more. “For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.” Psalm86.10 Christ you will do greater things that are possible – even when they seem impossible. Why? To display the very works and miracles of God.Where you are right now, is who He is making you to be – Christ Jesus. Eph 2.10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.Where you want to be, may not be who you’re supposed to be. God has something greater than what you think. The fact that you want to grow, means you’re moving forward. God is shaping you in the way he pleases, not in the way you see things.“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. Isa. 55.8 What greater purpose do we have apart from God? Psalm 103:11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;Who you are, is where you’re suppose to be. You are God’s kid, living in the here and now. We are no longer slaves, not to ourselves, sin, nor others. (Ref. Gal4.7 Psalm 51:12) Restore to me the joy of your salvation; and uphold me with your free spirit. We find our identity and purpose in being a child of God. So let us come to him with childlike faith and worship. Luke 18:16

Make this your prayer today:
“I want what You have for me, in the here and now. Turn my worry to trust, transform my fear to worship. You will never leave me, nor forsake me, for I am Your child.”Psalm86.4 “Make glad the soul of Your servant, For to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.”Let us not be overwhelmed by this life / nor our purpose / but may we be overwhelmed by the goodness, love and purpose of our Living Lord who gives life.
