#Transition

Word of the Week: “Transition”

Definition?

– the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another

– a passage in a piece of writing that smoothly connects two topics or sections to each other.
Music a momentary modulation from one key to another.

Here is Your Verse of the Week:

Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.

>Question of the Week?

How do you deal with transitions, before they deal with you?

Our Worship Team Training University Members KNOW …..

Transitions are inevitable. Change. We encounter transitions in real life. Not just in a worship service moving from song to song, but moving from life moment to life moment – especially when in that moment we feel stuck.

It’s not about getting from point A to point B, but how we handle the journey.

There is a common connection to those, and that’s confidence.

When it comes to making transitions, confidence can make you or break you. But take courage!

Jesus said: “and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matt 28.20

He is with us always, no matter how we may feel about a situation, set-list or set-back, God never leaves us. He is even closer than what we realize. So in this moment, are you moving closer to Him?

What about when it comes to worship leading? Does fear mount up when you have to go into the next song and don’t know how?

Are you fully prepared before your voice hits that microphone or before you strike that note?

What about worship itself? How does God find you between point A or B? Maybe some of us feel like we are still hiding behind point A and we don’t know how to move.

The reality is, God sees it all, knows all, and yet loves all. So with this in mind, there is nothing that is beyond His grasp, neither is His precious love for us that desires and is able to come and heal our brokenness. Are you willing to be clean? – as the man with leprosy inquired from His faith for Jesus to make him well – Matt 8.2

But day-to-day life can be difficult. Ministry is a challenge. But is this all that there is? What are we missing? How do we move past this? Where do we find our transition?

We find our transition in the life-bridge of Jesus. Instead of worrying about how God sees you, just worship Him right where you are. Let Him come and find you. Doesn’t he already know your state? So then why do we struggle about the need to appear “all-right” or perfect before God?

What is so wrong with letting Him come and find you as you really are?

Maybe it’s because the problem is not God, but it can be our view of God and even more so, our view of ourselves.

It’s difficult to let loose with your praise when you’re worried about how you’re praising or if others are watching.

Not being confident in your transitions can make them awkward if you’re unsure of where you’re going or how you’re doing it. And it’s really difficult to be a solid part of the team if you’re constantly second guessing yourself and let insecurities rule you.

So allow God to come and find, heal, forgive and live through you.

In your time with God, you may find this helpful to dialogue with God – asking Him these types of questions:
Where is my endpoint?
How do I begin this journey?
What do I need to do Jesus, to let you be my bridge?
Where in my life do I need healing?
How can I adapt the joy you want to give me – to the playing, singing and leading I do at church?
To whom in my family and community do I need to share this with?

TRANSITION

Is about how you manage change, spiritually, emotionally and musically.

Don’t be afraid to not know all the answers – just find them.

Titles don’t carry respect. Respect is developed – not given.

In seeking how to get from point A to B, don’t do it based upon how you feel you may deserve it, but how you need to earn it.

Do the hard work. Make your transition through Jesus.

You may walk in with a certain amount of education and experience, but you have to earn things overtime.

You have to live among your people to experience and live together. Then you can earn it and that’s where you will find the road of your transition.

Blessings on your week my friend, blessings on your transition.
