Five Ways To Not Ruin Your Monday
#WorshipGod24-7  If God could re-tweet the messages from the way you led worship, what would they say? You may have turned off the lights, walked away from Sunday, but somehow in your mind, you’re still playing Monday Quarterback. It’s time to stop playing the game, and start winning. Leaders have their set of commentaries. We are filled with our own thoughts about what “what could have been.” Sometimes or most, we can become too critical of ourselves.

However, if we are truly living Jesus everyday, leading worship needs to stay at the altar. Here’s a few thoughts to help you stop replaying the game.

1 Your worship is to God, your service is to God as you serve people.
Your worship is for God alone and for Him alone to be praised. What comes out of the service should be a by-product of your love for Jesus and hospitality to the people of God. You serve the Church as Christ would; it is a privilege that comes from the Father.

It just so happens that he gifted you with the ability to play/sing/produce/tech music. Keep your focus on the main thing, God Himself, as he directs you to help lead people.

2 Your leadership doesn’t hinge on who claps or who stares, neither if you miss a chord, button or lyric.
We all desire this, but just because your church doesn’t look like a worship concert, doesn’t down-scale your position. Your ability to lead worship is not dependent upon the number of people who follow you on social media. Your church is your church – the same one Christ died for.

Sing and worship with the people and lead them faithfully. Embrace this is who God has given you to lead – be faithful in both the small and big things.

3 People may rate you, but God doesn’t keep score.
When people approach you about the music, what you’ve done or didn’t do. Remember, their beef is not to sit on your plate. Internally, whatever is going with the person, has nothing to do with you. Unfortunately, as broken people, we tend to wear our feelings on our sleeves.

Handle them gently, don’t take it personally. First, listen to them; and second, thank them. Listen to their comment, and tell them you’ll “take it into advisement.” Bless them to have a great day.

4 Keep your ministry focused on the people – not the pleasing of people.
You know this, but you can’t please everybody. The church is one big radio rail, when everyone wants to have their own preset button or playlist. In reality, the music is mandated by your Senior Pastor, what they are leading you to do.

Let the words, scriptures and prayers minister to the people; create good music that people can sing. We all have bellybuttons and no one is exempt from comments.

But that’s all they are…comments are only a grain of salt. The only miracle worker is Christ Himself. Do everything heartily unto the Lord and let Him handle the consequences (Ref. ‪#‎Col‬.3.23)

5 Leave the service behind the door and let the worship continue.
You will always have the work waiting for you the following day. Go enjoy your family, friends and rest today. May the worship continue in your hearts as you give God gratitude and praise for the work he’s called you to today and the life that he gives tomorrow.

Monday morning no longer needs to look like a video replay, but a new landscape to create new opportunities. The Lord will not only direct your steps, but He also holds the answers to your plans. Trust in Him and those plans, that really come from Him, will succeed. Leading worship is a joy and a privilege, not a burden, nor a scorecard.
