It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. (Psalm 18:32 NIV) He gives us strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow. What a merciful and wonderful God we serve that seeks us. He desires our words, songs, and prayers, but what He desires most is our complete being (Romans 12:1, Hosea 6:6).
When our steps weaken, He gives us a firm place to stand. When all seems shaken, He places us on dry land. He hides our fear and worry, but asks us to do one thing: trust each step of His leading. He forgives our failures and desires us to turn to Him, to repent by having a true life change. He wants to transform our worry, mistrust, bitterness, and shame.
He wants to glorify Himself through us by brightening our hope, widening our trust, fulfilling our joy, and lifting our voice to give Him praise. (Isaiah 12:2) So why the struggle? Why must we walk through these valleys? It’s where we find God doing the majority of His work in our character. God reveals His nature of love and care. When we truly find our dependency in Christ, the steps we take are not only shared by Him, but they are also carried by Christ. (Isaiah 46:4) Each day He comes to us, seeking where He may be found – a place for Him. Are we making room or filling up all the spaces so that He cannot enter? Draw near to God and He will draw near to you (James 4:8, Hebrews 10:22). Let us be found in His worship, not by the words of our lips, but by living repentant lives (Isaiah 29:13). Seek Him and be found by Him with all of your heart (Jeremiah 29:13). Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord unto thee.
