Have you ever had a team member leave? Every worship leader goes through it, but it doesn’t mean it’s the end. Helping the relationships around us could mean the very beginning of understanding why live never quits.

Why does this happen? Why do they leave?

Before we dive in, let’s talk about the Greatest command – John 15.17 Love each other

Loving your people means that you give them space, even if it doesn’t make sense. Reasons can be work, family, stress, relational, etc.
Why do they leave? People live in a real world with real experiences and really just need us to stand beside them
Now if the motive for leaving is negative, let them. Do the same thing as above, don’t chase them, just love them where they’re at.
The important thing you must do – is NOT leave them.

It’s not about you, or is it about you?

Matt 18.12 – will the shepherd not leave the 99 on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off?

90% of the time when people have a reason or motive for what they do, has nothing to do with you. However, 90% of church leaders feel that it has to do something with them.
Remove yourself from the equation. Develop some empathy for the other person
Listening is the best thing you can do. Make yourself available to talk and have time with them to listen.
Don’t focus on what you can do, focus on how you can pray.
