Growth In the Seasons
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”Ephesians 2:10
It’s right here. You are not anyone else’s work, not even your own. You are a precious child of God – You are God’s work. So go, as you are created in Christ, you are a new creation, throwing off the old self and now parting on the new self. Shed the old skin of the past, destroy the old tapes that are playing lies, and shake-off the cocoon of confusion.
Arise in the newness of Christ, for He is always making all things new. Even today, He calls for you and I to join Him in his work, that is filled with His mercies that are new every morning. The work that He has prepared, was planned long ago, not for somebody else, or some other one that you even compared yourself to – no – it’s planned for you.
Before you were made, God already had formed you in mind. Beautifully and wonderfully made, so you believe this?
Then see the response of the Psalmist of how God is praised because of His great live and works:
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
Psalm 139:14 NIV
God predetermined your life to be His own. Your plans are but a vapor compared to the response that comes from His lips that call you to live a life of blessing, not a curse. He prepared good works for you to do in advance – this means that even when we were dead in our transgressions, His love was already working.
When we were asleep, He was always working. Even when we were trapped by fear or paralyzed by anxiety, He was always moving forward.
Now he calls you and I to wake up from our sleep and live the dreams that He has been working on, which are now ready, planned and prepared for you to step into. So do good and live as being complete in Christ Jesus, so you may bring Him the honor, glory and praise by producing good fruit as His living work.
