Unfailing Love 2020

He Has Something More To Say

“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.” – Psalms 143:8 NIV

There is somethings about the morning that brings a sense of newness. Maybe it’s the orange glow of the sun that remind us of our Creator. Could it be the amber rays that reflect their resilient light? How about the clouds that span miles across the pink and blue skies.

Look at the beginning of this verse, “let the morning bring me your word…” David is in prayer to God. These aren’t just words written on a page, these are prayers from David coming from the heart. And not only are they prayers, but the are responses to God’s word.

Like how we look to the sun each day for light, David searches the Word for strength. He goes on to say “…your unfailing love.” This passage is teaching us two things, the importance of God’s word and the importance of putting our trust in His word.

What do you see when you look up into the morning skies? No matter what visions or reflections that come to mind, we can be assured each day that He brings His word. He endows us with joy. The Lord fills us with comfort and peace – all coming from His word. And what is that word?

In Youversion, when you look up “word” you will see:
John 1:1 (NIV) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

1 John 3:18 (NIV) Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

James 1:22 (NIV) Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

Ephesians 6:17 (NIV) Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Psalms 56:10 (NIV) In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise—

So what does the “word” say to us? We see God’s command and authoring of Creation. His faithful Word that has always been and will always be.

1 John reminds us, that if we obey His word, as his word is in us, we will love in speech and in action.

James also offers the instruction to not only listen, but to do – what the word says.

When we do what His word says, we find the armor of God around us. His helmet of salvation gives us wisdom, the sword of the Spirit fends off the Enemy – which is the Word.

David, in Psalms 56, praises God for his word – His word is praise.

We can then conclude from the passages above that the word of God is our truth, our motivation, salvation, weapon of war and our praise.

So then, as we look up into the skies each morning, no matter how dark or light, we have countless reasons to be reminded of the greatness of His word.

Try this, when you begin each morning, find a ray of light or color in the sky. Think about how God’s love comes to you. Even more so, think about how God draws you to come to him.

As thoughts come to mind, give Him thanks. Think on his word that gives you hope. Think about how he uses that word to give you strength. Finally, give Him thanks for his word, worship him at his doorstep.

See Him with 2020 vision, as He will make your pathways straight. Let His unfailing love speak every monrning. Give thanks and worship Him daily.

Questions To Consider:
How does God’s word find you daily? As God speaks his word, he has the ability to transform your heart. If there was one thing you want him to change, what would it be?

Are you able to wait faithfully on Him, are you willing to do what His word says? When you awake in the light, what is God bringing to your mind to help you see his power, his glory and his sovereignty?

As you experience what He is bringing to your soul, respond to Him by giving him thanks and praise. Offer Him the worship that is due to His name. Make your trust in the Lord and He will lift you up.

This is a test from the emergency broadcast system – this is only a test! While it is easy for any ministry to become its own silo, God has called us to a bigger role. We share the ministry of the church as one body, yet many members. However, what do you do when people in your church, members of your team or staff, act as if they want nothing to do with you until Sunday? It would be unfavorable to have one ministry be placed over another. It isSEE DETAILS
