Check Pride At The Door

Check the ego at the door, before you hit the worship floor. We all have it, but how do we better deal with it? It’s your team, in your church, in your family and in you. What breaks a spirit of any unity is caused by the failure of a positive attitude. This can look like negative egos, agendas and divisiveness.

So how do you check pride at the door and to avoid #AttitudeFail? Our worship is never to be based on music, but on relationships. Our relationship with God, His word and the Spirit of Jesus is our primary bond. When we become one in spirit, heart and mind with Christ, we begin to think like Christ.

If we are desiring to reach people for Christ, we must learn how to reach each other through mercy and love. We are not setting up little kingdoms from one another: “this is my song, this is my solo, this is my spot” – we are to only serve the One and His Kingdom only.

Everything else will fall if we are not one.

QUESTIONS:

The Importance of Psalm 22
  • Spiritual Heart Surgeon
  • Take God Seriously
  • My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish? 2 My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest.[b] 3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the one Israel praises.[c] 4 In you our ancestors put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them.
  • How can Worship Leader’s pick the right song?
  • Verse 22: For he has not despised or scorned     the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him     but has listened to his cry for help.
  • Jesus is quoting a Psalm on the cross
  • A bad ego keeps you focused on the wrong thing
1. As a leader, what is most important to you about attitudes?
2. How do you work through attitude-fails?
3. What do you do to encourage others in your team about unity?
4. Simply, what is your role as a servant and how do you exhibit this in your ministry?

I am excited for the opportunity to share my 30 years of Worship Leading experience with you and your ministry. My coaching is practical and transferable. While every church is unique, there are principles that will bring success in every environment. I know how to build teams, lead congregations in worship and produce events in churches of all sizes and shapes ranging from very small to over 45,000 people in stadium events. I understand most of the challenges worship leaders face navigating the waters of worship ministry and I would be honored to work with you.
